When I Was Fired
Greetings from Lon Angeles. I would like to take this opportunity to share a few observations that I obtained from some of your colleagues. These observations are a concern for us as we regard your professional experience and education very highly. Please let me know your feedback.
- Non-communication: most of your colleagues noticed that you do not communicate to anyone while you are in the office. Once you get into your room, you do not come out to speak to any of your colleagues. Neither do you interact with them. Is there anything wrong? Also, I wanted to ask you if you think that you can achieve something without the assistance of your colleague(s)? I like to know that winning formula.
- Lack of professional presentation: even when you attend a group of international visitors, you present yourself without a blazer or suit which is unacceptable in our profession. I like to mention that I and our colleagues also expected you the minimum to present yourself with a reasonable tie.
- Disrespect for office time: while all your colleagues report to work at between 9.30 and 10.00am, you happily come to work at 1.30 or 2pm at your whim. Unfortunately, we do not have any tolerance for this kind of irregular timings.
- Non-submission of reports: you have been asked to submit your list of things to do (weekly and monthly) as well as other reports including your business development plans, strategy as well as company profile but we have not received any as of yet despite repeated requests to do so.
- Lack of technical knowledge – the understanding of jargons that we need at the bare minimum level to do your job: it is just natural that you should be learning more and more about what our company offers as products and services based on the assumptions (as per your experience and education) that you do have the basic knowledge of technology. However, your colleagues have reported that you do not know some basic technology jargons and what they mean and this can be easily found when you use Google.
In light of the above observations, we are giving you a week to rectify and will review your perfoirmance in a week’s time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
